  • Relief of stress or pain
  • Improved movement ability

Because this type of learning involves the whole person, not only muscles, progress at the physical level often generalizes to enhance

  • Clear thinking
  • Emotional health
  • Social relationships and
  • Creativity

Sessions are offered in two ways

  • A Functional Integration® session is private and takes place on a padded table with the client fully clothed. The practitioner uses a non-invasive process of gentle touch, movement and words to communicate how to move in more comfortable and functional ways. The emphasis of a session depends on the individual’s needs. Concrete experience of functionally significant yet subtle movement allows one to recognize more supportive habits that can be applied to both work and leisure activities.

  • Awareness Through Movement® classes are given to groups and last 45 to 60 minutes in a quiet atmosphere. Clients are guided verbally through a sequence of gentle movements on a given theme as they work at their own pace and comfort level. Although responses are very individual, participants often feel lighter, taller, and freer in their movement after a lesson. Many people report more clarity in their thinking. From the relatively simple to the complex, ATM lessons are embedded with the foundations of all human movement. Improvements can be felt immediately and also accumulate over time as they become absorbed into daily activities.
